13-Year-Old Boy Charged With Felony Sex Crimes
When you think of those committing child pornography and other sex crimes, you may think of adult men. In Florida, a 12-year-old boy was running a Discord group that engaged in sex-related crimes. That boy, now 13, is now facing multiple felony charges.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has been investigating the case for the past month. They received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about a Discord group. The group was putting on a “live cut show,” in which the group was encouraging a young girl to cut herself.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office traced the IP address back to a 12-year-old boy in Pasco County. The boy is now 13.
The sheriff’s office investigated and found the boy with video of child porn that included an infant. Authorities found another sex-related crime video in the teen’s possession. The boy admitted to encouraging two other minors to cut themselves. He was also in possession of documentation for committing mass murder and other violent attacks. He then tried to conceal the evidence.
The Pasco County sheriff stated that is nothing new and it is happening all over the world. He claims that the boy is part of an online cult that uses Satanic and neo-Nazi ideology. They idolize school shooters and place no value on human life. These types of cults also encourage minors to harm themselves through extortion. In fact, members gain status and notoriety within the group by coercing others to harm themselves or commit suicide and then videotaping the acts to share online.
The cults use popular online games such as Roblox and Minecraft to draw in victims. These games have an online chat to gain rapport with a person. The cult members then bring people to a site like Discord and have them do certain things on camera. In this case, the cult encourages victims to cut themselves and then they use the video as extortion.
This extortion is often done through a sexual means. It is described as sextortion, which refers to sexual exploitation by the abuse of power.
The cult groups entrap people by threatening to reveal the recorded videos to family members, friends, and even the public. The victims are often forced to engage in acts that are more and more harmful.
The 13-year-old now faces multiple criminal charges, including four felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of another sex-related crime related to bestiality. The case is still under investigation.
The sheriff’s office is working with federal agencies such as the FBI and Department of Homeland Security on these cases.
