Florida Man Faces More than 300 Child Porn Charges

Viewing images of children in sexual positions may seem offensive to most people, while some people are curious about them. After viewing adult porn, some people move on to child porn for the shock value. They know it’s wrong, but they simply can’t look away.

However, some people tend to forget that simply viewing these images is against the law. Whether you are facing one or hundreds of child pornography charges, you can face serious criminal charges. The penalties can range widely, from decades in prison to fines. Child porn charges are felonies that can affect your life forever.

That is the fate of a Florida man who was recently arrested for possession and transmission of child pornography. In early August, the 28-year-old man from Titusville was charged with a total of 348 counts of child porn. This includes 333 counts of possessing more than 10 child porn images as well as 15 counts of transmitting child porn.

Police began their investigation after they received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. On June 1, 2017, the agency received a tip from a cloud hosting service provider that child porn images were being transmitted on its system.

An investigation showed that the account was opened in June 2014. The child porn files in questions were uploaded on 15 different days between August 2016 and May 2017. Eight IP addresses were linked to the account. Two were from Port St. Lucie, while the others originated in Miami, Jacksonville and other cities throughout Florida. police found that the man lived in Port St. Lucie for nearly three years and worked there at a substance abuse treatment center.

Port St. Lucie police used this information to obtain an arrest warrant. They found the man at his current home in Titusville and arrested him. Authorities reviewed the child porn images and found that most of them depicted young children between the ages of 1 and 6 years old. The children were engaged in sexual activity and explicit poses.

The man is currently in St. Lucie County Jail, with bail set at $3.4 million.
