11-Year-Old, Family Dog Involved in Child Porn Acts

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office performed an intensive digital forensics investigation. According to detectives, the mother produced at least 14 explicit videos involving the child. They were all sent electronically to a 38-year-old man who is currently under investigation. The man was receiving child pornography as well as meeting children to perform sexual acts. He is facing felony charges as well. Authorities are looking to determine if other people were involved or received the materials.

Investigators discovered evidence suggesting the mother coerced the child to participate in sexual acts. Some of these incidents even involved the family’s pet dog. The footage reportedly included the pre-teen girl posing in certain ways and performing sex acts with a dog. The images also showed the woman using sex toys on her daughter as well as both of them performing oral sex on each other.

Under Florida’s revamped child protection laws, capital sexual battery involving someone under 12 years old is now eligible for the death penalty. Prosecutors are reviewing the case with that statute in mind. The sheriff stated that Florida law allows for the harshest possible penalties in crimes like this and this case may qualify.

Authorities are trying to protect the child’s identity to prevent further trauma to her. The child’s father was at home during some of the incidents but said his level of awareness is unknown and being investigated.

Detectives are still examining the mother’s digital communications and devices for evidence of co-conspirators. Federal agencies have been notified of the possibility of interstate transmission of illegal material. The mother remains in custody at the Pinellas County Jail, where she is awaiting an appearance before a judge. No bond has been set yet.

The child remains active in the local community and is safe with other family members. There is a no contact order between her and her mother.
