Florida Teacher/Coach Arrested On Child Porn Charges

Children trust their teachers and sports coaches. Adults in these roles are often role models to kids and as such, they need to be on their best behavior. This means refraining from criminal activities, especially those involving child pornography.

A teacher who also served as a soccer coach in Florida was recently hit with multiple child porn charges. The 52-year-old man from Dunnellton was recently arrested in Lake County.

The man was arrested on November 23 after the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in early 2021. The agency had traced the transmission of child pornography images to the man’s home.

Investigators searched the man’s home in August, but no child porn images or videos were found, even though the man admitted to viewing child porn. He was, however, arrested for trafficking an unknown controlled substance. The man was held at Citrus County Detention Facility, but he later paid a bond and was released from jail.

However, deputies later located child porn images on electronic devices that the man owned.  On November 22, deputies issued a warrant for the man’s arrest. He is being held in Lake County Jail on a $195,000 bond. He is facing 13 counts of child porn possession.

The man worked in Citrus County as a teacher and community soccer coach, but the school he worked at is unknown.
